The Vision
Rooted in telluride.
Built for the future.
Every great club starts with a vision—and The Alpine Club is no exception. Born from a love of Telluride and a shared belief in doing things the right way, this project brings together local heart, proven expertise, and world-class design. What began as a hometown dream is now taking shape as a lasting legacy, built through partnership, purpose, and a deep respect for the mountains we all love.
a legacy of success
Southworth is the visionary company behind The Alpine Club, with more than three decades of experience and $2 billion in development and sales across the U.S., the Caribbean, and the U.K. They have earned a reputation as experts in the private club space, crafting clubs and communities that feel as personal as they are exceptional. Guided by an unwavering commitment to their members, Southworth creates places and spaces that feel deeply personal, authentically crafted, and as inspiring as the members that belong. Behind it all is a team of dedicated professionals—experts in hospitality, design, and experience—who know how to turn vision into something lasting. Southworth clubs aren’t built to be flipped or forgotten; they’re built to endure, to create connection, and to be loved for generations.
local roots
Locals Scott and Lauren Woodward are the heartbeat behind the club. Lauren grew up in the valley, Scott planted his flag here, and together they’re raising their family here. Out of that came a simple idea: build the kind of club they always wished existed—a private, on-mountain hub that feels equal parts adventure basecamp, favorite bar and restaurant, and living room. To make it real, they embarked on an exhaustive multi-year search for the right partner.
inspired design
To bring it all to life inside the club, the team turned to Pembrooke & Ives, the award-winning and internationally acclaimed design firm. Their warm, inviting, and elevated spaces are crafted to feel less like a clubhouse and more like an effortless extension of your own home—only better.
